I Like It Like That

The last few days have been soo-weet!

I overheard Harry and Dean talking the other day, Harry repeating a frequent reminder: "We don't say CAN'T in this house!" He'd turned the tables on Dean, who had been giving him consequences - smarty pants!

The boys used their GC's for books, including these A-maze-ing maze books - Harry loves mazes and word searches at the moment

Jack decided his balloon would make a great volleyball and whiled away most of the other morning keeping it off the ground by whatever means possible

IDK why I love these 'busted' moments with Harry but I have a ton of pix with this expression. I'm sure he's just practicing to flirt with the girls, right?!

Since Mother's Day, things have been a bit pink around here and they have been noticing things a lot more, very complimentary, etc. This morning, Jack says: Mommy, do you know what you are? Me (debating whether a cringe will be necessary): No, what? Jack: Beautiful! :wub:

There aren't many days in the last 5 years that I've made the effort (outside, and maybe even in), but maybe it's time I start trying a bit since I think that's a pretty nice way to start my day!

Glad To Have A Friend Like You

It's not exactly Abbey Road, but cute boys walking + train tracks + sunny skies that were supposed to be raining = one great day!

Harry, Gavin and Jack created a long and detailed scenario that had them traipsing all over the world on planes and trains to save somebody

Little brother Garrett was a total delight all day, and especially loves ice cream

...to mark the halcyon time

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses .... the last few days have been those sort of lucky, golden days that will probably make up their halcyon dreams - thanx to the friends and family who have been a part of it all!

The boys rocked out on Grayson's drum set the other day...I'm sensing a long-term plan ;-)

We went to a story hour and they went book shopping this morning, where we ran into our wonderful neighbor, reminding me how lucky we are to live in such a friendly area (thank you, Sarah)

Harry's choice of desserts at lunch had me hoping he wasn't petitioning his old ma!

After dinner with Aunt Jackie, we decided KK was a much better treat than anything we saw on the menu...they also decided it was a good place to pose for some pix for Daddy - we miss you!

There have been a lot of other good ages and stages, and there are sweet little boy things I miss, but this is my favorite age so far....they're such a nice blend of capable and curious and loving and trainable (HA!)

05/09 Harry: When Jack keeps trying to wake me up when I'm trying to sleep, that's what distracting means! Jack:Can we order o'meals at O'Charley's? LOL

We seem to be in another wonderful round of blooming things here....I thought I'd share some of the pretties....

I have to find out the name of this one - we hate the location but it's hard to argue with this...

...gorgeous bloom. This should definitely be a scratch and sniff because it has the most wonderful magnolia scent

These wildflowers are all along our woods and our road

And the honeysuckle has been everywhere - the boys all tried it the other day...not everyone loved it, but it brought back a lot of sweet memories for me - did you eat honeysuckle as a child?

And these are my favorite blossoms, possibly EVER, the ones Harry brought me today after his nature walk with Dean :wub:

After the Memorial Day service, we took advantage of the clouds breaking up and headed to the park with Grayson....it was a long and beautiful day - thanx for all the fun, friends!

We went to our local Memorial Day ceremony this morning, a wonderful tradition made that much better by having some good friends join us!

It was a longish cermony for little boys, but they did really well. And this is where we lost Jack...notice the pretty blonde?

One More Stop On The Train

Yesterday was Man Day - the boys' amazing Uncle Les joined them and Daddy for some fishing and lunch while I went outletting with my friend Jackie. A fun day was had by all!

Here's Jack with one of his first catches (I'm told they caught about 10 bass and blue gills) - you can see it if you look just in front of his left hand and above that white rock ;-)

Everyone came back home for some playing and grilling fun - they wore Les out!

We ended yesterday with a trip to the library with Asher, his mom and Mimi. Harry had a wonderful time reading with Mimi

Today was the preschool year-end picnic, and it was just about perfect - great weather, great eats, and great friends! Here are a few of the boys' best buds, only three of which will go to their school next year :sniff: It's been a fun year, and we can't wait for summer!
