All this recalculating is making me nervous (what?!) The Garmin says that every time you don't go the way she directs; he laughs every time and usually asks us to go the wrong way on purpose so he can hear it!

My Sweet Italian Man

Sometimes it seems like Harry lives on the wrong continent - the boys KNOWS how to siesta and he mimics accents and tones great, but tends to lean toward-a the Italian, as in:

Mommy-a, I had-a bad-a dream!
So, that's-a why! (This is a favorite thing lately, giving all sorts of round-about details and ending with "that's why" and a funny little face)

Other things I want to get on tape at some point because they crack me
It'll CUT you! (Don't ever make the mistake of telling your son who loves all things aviar that a tall tower could cut you if you fly by it fast....who knows why I said it that way, or why it stuck, but "It'll CUT you!" is a favorite caution of his)

...and to think we used to wonder when he'd ever START talking....apologies to anyone who he's accosted lately with his stories, and thanx for being so patient and kind :-)

AOL has a story about finding the oldest human footprint - I wonder if this is the oldest reference to spooning (circa 1912):

When I walked into their room this morning, they were both sitting in the rockers and going thru their letters on these cool 'writing boards' - by the time I got back, Harry had moved to the floor and started drawing pix instead, but it was a sweet moment for me....it's so encouraging to see them initiate the 'work' of learning!

For Mardi Gras, the Amazing Mrs. B let the kids create their own masks - Jack on the left and Harry on the right.
And a little art research helped me figure out who Mrs. B. was referencing when she said that Harry's sort of reminded her of Keith Haring (I'll pass along her cautionary note about his subject matter being risque at times, fair warning)

A small group of friends took a tour of the Krispy Kreme store - yes, we've been there many time and you've seen several versions of this same shot, but Sam's in this one, and you can see Asher and his mom's shadows in the left corner

The nice lady taught them all about how the different ingedients are mixed, let them feel the dough at different points in the process and then gave us amazing warm donuts -

uh, yum!

As I was loading the wet clothes into the dryer, I wondered how many engineers have tried to figure out a combo washer/dryer that eliminates this step?? Seems like those stacked units have the best chance....the spin cycle could just fling the clothes into the dryer, right?

A friend in college called me Julie Cruise Director because I was always planning fun stuff for us to do...I just thought of that even tho a bunch of us have been organizing things for the kiddies to do for several years.

We had a fun time running errands, touring Krispy Kreme, eating donuts, doing crafts, running around the gym, and having a friend over for a lunch playdate which was a real treat for me.... I'm herding them into the bath and an early dinner and bed so I can rest....whew!

Jack put this chair in time out - it doesn't seem as funny as I type, but it was a hilarious story he told in a funny voice.





A local restaurant has Kids' Nites weekly, and we ended up booted from the house for a showing, so they got to meet Sponge Bob. Since Jack reminded me that 'it's just a person dressed up in a costume,' I hope we're not getting past the magic this soon...

And remember that post about how proud he was to tell someone I was his mom?? Well, the lovin' doesn't stop here....he was telling me "that's MY dad!" :wub:Oh, girls, beware - Harry knows how to use those eyes!
