Mother's Day was gorgeous and full of love from my three favorite men - I'm such a lucky mommy!

The boys are so silly and love to make goofy pix, posing here in front of the 'treasure' - they led me on a treasure hunt with sweet clues. Definitely worth the effort!

We went to see Soul Surfer and completely enjoyed it - they had read about Bethany Hamilton's run-in in one of their Shark books. Jack was into the attack, while Harry wanted to know all about how she learned to do everything again. The movie was a great family picture!

After the movie, they took me to one of our favorite restaurants to wrap up a fantastic day - thank you to all my men - love ya lotsa!

Today was the boys' last day of summer vacation, so we lit out for a few adventures, and guess what we found at the museum....

Harry's dream room! The boy loves a map more than just about anything. One of his major pasttimes this summer has been STUDYING a map for an area where I used to work - he can tell you just about any route from any direction...now, if he just had a reason to visit ;-)
They had all sorts of maps, including a display about GPS...remember the Garmin? Ahhhh

Jack has a slightly different approach, and they had all the bells and whistles for his style as well

They both had fun pretending to be pilots

We took in the IMAX theater and I couldn't get a good perspective shot, but thought this was appropriate since I'm always telling him he's a natural cartographer

I made another attempt during the movie, Deep Sea, not great- but you can see Harry's sweet profile and long lashes if you look near the bottom left...and squeeze in a little lesson about the coral reef ;-)

Thanx also for the fun pool time, CC - hope you survived the sleepover and we can get our schedules worked out for something fun SOON!

It was a really nice way to end the summer break, and after a few fun things this weekend we'll all be ready for a schedule

We went to see How To Train Your Dragon tonite, and it started out well with oohs and ahhs about the 3-D cool....
...but apparently Harry was more tired than he was intrigued, so Dean spent more than 1/2 the movie like this. There probably won't be many more opportunities to snuggle in a theater chair

These Are My Glasses

Disney released Toy Story and TS2 in 3-d, trying to get folks ready for TS3. We finally made it to the show yesterday, the last day, and check out the cool new 3-d glasses ;-)

Jack totally loved 3-d and spent a LOT of time reaching out for the snowflakes and whatnot

Harry wasn't feeling so great, but he rallied for the popcorn!

'Cause Days Go By

Yikes, I've been a blogging slacker! Things have been moving right along with our new home, and somehow the minutes turn into hours which turn into days that seem to fly...

The boys are still enjoying school. They each created Monster Books, highlighting colors and shapes, this past week:

There's a new drive-in theater in our area, and we checked it out with several friends last nite. There is an adorable picture of the boys all piled into the back of a truck that I will post when I can :-) Thanx, friends, it was fun and we hope to do it again sometime soon! We actually ran into a nurse from the days when the boys were in the hospital ohSOlongago....

We tried to convince the boys that it would be a great adventure to have a Sleeping Late Contest since we got home so late - results:

We were invited to a friend's pool for an end-of-summer party, and this is how Harry responded to the news, his memory astounds me
M: Would you like to go to a pool party at Ms. Sandy's today?
H: Ms. Sandy with the brown hair? that we went to the Big House with? the new Big House with the brown wall? (this was about two years ago)

Today was the opening day of college football season, and the beginning of the serious indoctrination ;-)

That's the question to be answered this week ;-) Today was a slow, waiting-for-the-rain day, and the boys watched The Wizard of Oz again, this time with their friend Grayson

I swear Harry's ready for the Flashdance remake ;-)

We went to their friend Spencer's birthday party, which was a lot of fun.

So, we'll see if this motivation lasts, but it's the first day of lunch packing and I felt a little creative - trying to think of other cowboy-themed shapes.....

After getting our Chick-A-Wow-Wow on with Alvin, Theodore and Simon this morning, the boys decided to stroll around the pet store for a while....oh, the joy of simple things, eh?

You Oughta Be In (At?) Pictures

We started going to this year's summer movies last week, and it's going to be a pretty busy week with movies, swim lessons and tball. They, ok me too, are starting to crack under the fatigue, but they rallied a few times today, and tonite we made it thru almost the entire nite with no whining or tears...a small miracle. After a really rough afternoon, they knew that they had to listen to the coach, play and refrain from whining or crying in order to go to the movie tomorrow. We'll be picking up friends early :-)

They've gotten into a good routine - Harry gets the popcorn and Jack gets the snack in the kids meal.
Nothing makes them much happier than a trip to the pet store, and they earned it during the movie this morning. If only it could have lasted....they flipped this afternoon, and Jack balked about lessons while Harry trooped on (180 degrees from yesterday). It was a terrible whinefest; I yelled and they cried themselves to sleep, but a nap seemed to do the trick

These days sure are sweet! I sent them ahead to do their chores and walked in on Jack having 'A Conversation With Ducks', which seems like a good title for a work of art of some sort, right?

Harry decided he wanted a buzz cut....
but I couldn't go all the way with it - this was our compromise ;-)

Then I went to find Jack....

...and he had found a new favorite place to read

Parent's Magazine Summer Reading List for toddlers and up - two of the books on the 4-8 list, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Where The Wild Things Are ,are also movies coming out this summer ;-)

We went to see Up this weekend, and it was pretty cute. There were a few tense moments involving a pack of dogs, but they both seemed to like it. Can't wait to summer movies to start!


They were goofing around in the tub while I did a few chores, the laughing brought me in to find "we're two Mary's!"
The sillies continued, but I did catch them giving 'noggins' ala Crush from Nemo
