years turn over

The boys had a great time at their 6-year-old checkup - they completely dig their doc and his staff....who let them try out the equipment and let me take pix of it all.

They still haven't quite made it to 4 feet....

...but Jack will say goodbye to the first rack of weights since he hit 50 pounds this trip.
Harry looks a little like he's practicing for Jeopardy....watch out, Alex!

Jack was into listening to his own heartbeat...

...while Harry just wanted to flirt!

(he's drumming her heartbeat)

Believe it or not, they could both lay on this table for their first visit almost 6 years ago :sniff:

Their favorite part was the visit and hugs with Miss Vicky (tho they were sick of posing). Hard to believe it started like this

With my very best friendS

This last week before Kindergarten has been pretty full of friends and fun - a group of friends from preschool and before got together this morning and ended up piling into a chair for a few pix....setting up
posing

and falling down!
What did kids do before 'the claw'??

After bouncing fun and lunch, it was time for a trip to the dentist. Who knows who he's been listening to, but somehow Harry decided to attempt at revolt....it didn't last long, and here's his sweet 'cowboy' moment
Getting Xrays - his 6 year molars were visible, and she estimates they'll be popping out within the month
Jack loves taking pix, and Xrays are a complete thrill to him tho he wanted to know why you couldn't see his smile
Checking out his new pirate jibbitz while he was waiting for Dr. Chris
This is a great pediatric dentist office - they are never late enough for the boys to get enough time to check out all the cool stuff like Nemo-esque fish tanks
and all sorts of games and toys
Jack's attempt at comic relief after a long trip to the grocery
Their Kindergarten Open House is tomorrow, complete with a practice run on the bus, meeting their teachers and taking all their new school supplies.

Bounce, Bounce! Nothing's gonna keep me down

Tuesday a group of friends from the boys' preschool got together for a little bouncing party as part of their last-week-of-preschool festivities.....I apologize in advance for the pix, I've been taking a break from lugging the camera and took these with the phone ;-)
They de-shoed and listened to the rules, the first of which was to 'have fun' - they could do this!
Asher, Harry and Jack taking flight - I don't remember if this was the trip to Africa, the beach or where...

It's hard to tell, but they set up a sort of clubhouse at the top of this slide - who knows what sort of stories and adventures they had, but they were nice enough to let girls join in every now and then!
Harry has been in a girl phase lately, if you're looking for him, just find the girls (especially Ladybug ) and there he'll be
I couldn't get a good picture of them, but all 14ish of them were wedging themselves into this little tent...visions of future frats pranks abound!
After the bounce-fest, we went to the park for biking and scootering and general boying
Gavin rode with us, and he and Jack had a blast on the turning and climbing things
Jack, Grayson, and Harry turned this window into a dungeon despite the fact that nobody's behavior was *that* bad ;-)

And this is how Harry ended the day - having the doctor confirm that this awful rash is sunproduct- or sun-related....poor boy, I'm supposed to leave off the sunscreen for a week...um, their year-end picnic is tomorrow, full sun for hours!
(and the key-loss saga renews as the valets lose the second set in as many weeks)

You think I'm cute, a little bit shy

The boys took a field trip a few weeks ago that I posted before, but another mom was kind enough to take pix - thank you so much, Crystal!

I have no idea what Jack was saying at this point

Sometimes I think they look the most different when they are looking in the same direction

Cast Off All My Fears that bound me

A few weeks ago, a group of friends went on a hospital field trip that gave the kids a chance to learn about the ER, see how casts and stitches work and basically get comfortable with the hospital and its staff.
Here they are with two of their favorite bears, pre-accident

After the ER visit, treats were had by all....Jack seems ready for a nap ;-)
After the visit, they were told to take their 'brave patients' home and let them rest until dinner. I'm not sure how this stuck with them so well, but they were very precise in their Florence Nightengale efforts

Double Shot for my babies...yeahyeahyeah

Yesterday the boys visited their favorite doctor for their 5 year checkup, and thankfully he said "we're ok to be five!" according to Jack. I left the good camera and missed a lot of shots, but they were totally into all the different tests and medical whatnots, and the staff was very indulgent and patient...thank you! It's hard to believe what a chore this used to be, what with bulky stroller, all the distracting toys and snacks and diapers that were involved. Life is really good these days!

They both got a clean bill of health, with good vision and hearing and blood pressure. Jack is at the 75th percentile for both height and weight (45 pounds and 44.75 inches tall), and Harry's just over the 50th percentile (41.5 pounds and 43.75 inches tall).

I didn't think of the phone camera until they started goofing around with the Pirate Eye Test

Harry: "Can you hear me now, Jack?!"
Harry's BP wa 90/60 - they were so glad to finally be able to do this. Their arms are too small for the machines in the stores, but they like to push the buttons and otherwise 'help' me
Jack's BP was 90/58
Probably TMI, but Jack was completely thrilled to dip the stick and watch the colors change; he really has a love for all things medical test
Except the painful needles. Poor guy. He looked at me about 15 seconds later and said "It really doesn't hurt anymore, Mommy, you were right!"
This is the closest they'll get to donating blood for a while, but they felt like they were doing their part ;-)
Harry's cowboy face - not a tear despite the blood draw and two BIG needles. What a tough cookie!
They got to watch the machine work its magic and found out that their blood is all good!
Thanx again to all the staff and docs who take such great care of them! I hope this year is as healthy as last and we don't see you until 6 ::-)
