Goodnite, goodnite, goodnite little darlings, goodnite

First Sleepover January 1, 2010
They were just a *little bit* excited about going to Grayson's for their first sleepover tonite! I hear that there are games and good eats and movies and such abounding. It's funny to have it so quiet and not be able to peek in on them...only the second time since we had to leave them in the hospital - I sat up nites on the computer moping over pix then, too  It's good to have them do exciting new big-boy things and to have some grown-up time for ourselves....I'm looking forward to waking up when my body's ready tomorrow morning, but it will be nice to have them back
Thank you for taking good care of them, Nicole!

Sleep tight little froggies, good nite!

Tick Tock

We had a LONG day and they were really pretty amazing thru it all, tho I'm not as patient as I should be today because the allergies are squeezing my head in a vice..ugh. We spent over 3 hours at the car dealership getting a recall fixed - luckily they do have a decent little playroom, and here are my two sillies pretending to sleep....who says it's only women who have biological clocks? ;-)

After they found this little clock (you can see Jack playing with it) they went thru our entire day by the hour. Hey, it wasted a few of those many minutes!

Under My Thumb

So, when your teeny baby starts sucking his thumb and you're so relieved not to have to chase TWO pacifiers at one time....keep this trick in mind - the dentist suggested Jack wear boxing gloves to sleep (the main time it's a problem). Jack, surprise!, loves this idea and it seems to be helping a lot. Will keep you posted, but I thought this pic was too cute not to share

Frere Jack

So, here's the deal....the boys love to sleep. They still sleep about 13 hours a day/nap between their naps and nite. A friend recommended a good sleep book when they were still baking, and I read it and tried my best to follow the "sleep nazi's" prescription. Somehow, they have come to value sleep and will even tell me or Dean that we need to go to sleep so we won't be tired the next morning ;-)

For a few years now, they have slept through the night from a late nap (say 4pm to 6am the next morning - I think 15 1/2 hours is the record!) if they missed sleep or didn't nap for some reason. A few times a month, we get a 'sleepover'

They sort of got away from that right about the time they ditched the diapers but the last few months, it's happened again. Last week, I took them a little snack around 9pm, and we picnicked in the middle of their floor, they talked about their dreams then went right back to sleep. They decided that's what they want to do tonite - Daddy Picnic and Long Sleep

Here they are at the park earlier, practicing ;-)

Happy snoozes to you and yours!
