Let me tell of a time when the world was in rhyme with the sound of our laughter

Harry has always had some connection with opera and lives his life in music, so when an opportunity to go to a real, live opera came up....we jumped on it!

First, there was the stylish dressing and posing with Mommy...
...then the sweet goodbyes with Brother Jack
(Jack says this picture makes him look like a ragged boy and Harry like a rich man)
 His big send-off pose
 Let's go, already!
To get into the spirit of the nite, we went to his favorite Italian restaurant....
....you got it, it has a fountain!
A little more posing, just in case it wasn't obvious that we were excited.  He thought this one made it look like we were really on the streets of Italy ;-)
 A taste of Italy
 It's delish
 ...and messy!

There were no pix during the show, but it was a really great job in a nicely refurbished theater with an art deco styling that Harry dug.  He made it through most of the first half before nodding off, seeming to really like the acting and singing.  He did as if there would be any lady singers after the first scene was nothing but bohemian men.

To say thanx to Daddy for directional assistance and let him and Jack know we loved them, we stopped at a sweet old-fashioned donut store on the way home.
He's still perfecting his milk 'stache
The fat lady, as the expression goes, has sung!

Eight Years Ago (8 Days A Week)

From the very first minutes,

to the very last 7yo hugs....

....it's been an amazing, silly adventure

Some of my favorite, most precious memories....

Meeting Granny Lou - I always dreamt that she would know them,

she brought some of their first true laughs

Their personalities shone thru right from the beginning
there's been a lotta love...

and a lotta posing....

and a lotta 'tude

You make us happy, frustrated, proud, tired and hopeful. These last weeks have brought glimpses of lessons learned and fun to come - cannot wait for the next chapter....love you both so much!

But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do

Looking through all the wedding pix, I noticed Jack was everywhere, learning how to do everything, including flirt with the ladies like his mom and Aunt Iris. He was often in the middle of the men, figuring out how to be a guy after a few obligatory poses.

He also got some much-needed Daddy Time, asking Dean to make sure he looked nice a few times, wrestling, and deciding he was too cool to watch Dean grooving it (I guess that's not the first time we'll embarrass him and have him covering his eyes). Let's hope the perp walk is a passing phase! There were fireflies galore, and he and Aunt Iris got to experience a little summer magic.

Mommy, daddy, you and I

Mother's Day was gorgeous and full of love from my three favorite men - I'm such a lucky mommy!

The boys are so silly and love to make goofy pix, posing here in front of the 'treasure' - they led me on a treasure hunt with sweet clues. Definitely worth the effort!

We went to see Soul Surfer and completely enjoyed it - they had read about Bethany Hamilton's run-in in one of their Shark books. Jack was into the attack, while Harry wanted to know all about how she learned to do everything again. The movie was a great family picture!

After the movie, they took me to one of our favorite restaurants to wrap up a fantastic day - thank you to all my men - love ya lotsa!

And old home scenes of my childhood

Jack had chosen a whole lotta his favorite pix for his week as Star Student. He only took a few in, but I was playing around with them and made this collage....

Changed The Locks

Last Monday was a school holiday, so my favorite little guys and I hit the salon and....this
...ended up like this....(it's on its way to Pantene's Beautiful Hair program - I've donated to Locks Of Love before, but they are getting a lot of flack lately, and I'm getting grayer, so...)
...and I turned into this. I'm still getting used to it, but it's good to have a change. The boys took me to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch and dessert before Secretariat. Harry has been dying to try this restaurant, and his final verdict: 'this is the worst restaurant ever!' A little dramatic, but he really wasn't impressed
Jack, otoh, said this was 'the most delicious cake in the entire world!'
The movie was great, and soccer practice was fairly lovely on a crisp Fall nite!

Time well wasted

This is about as motivated as I've been:

And this is about as happy as I've been:
Happy Anniversary, babe! Starting our second decade is pretty cool :-)
