Then you can monster mash
Harry's pal Sarah and her family had a party this afternoon and invited us all. The boys had a great time playing at their old preschool playground with lots of friends, getting their faces painted, and I had a great time visiting with friends and tasting all the great eats. Thank you Sandy and friends!

Anticipation...
These are some fine days. We are getting set to move into our new home, and the yard is just on the verge of changing into her fall wear.....
I could never get their reflections right with the camera, so I'll have to trust my mind's eye :click:
and my view out the window over my sink is turning - this tree will be a beautiful red soon if all this summer's rain is going to pay off prettily
I could spend a few hours in a hammock looking up at this today
Most of the trees look like this - a few pretty colors mixed in with the green that's not quite ready, but there are a lot of cold nites predicted this week

Gettin' down on the farm
The boys' preschool went to a local pumpkin farm this morning, and it was a blast! They each went with their class, so I went with Harry and their friend Sam's parents helped keep Jack in line (thanx, Carol and Allen!). They got to take a hayride out to the patch, choose their own pumpkin, play in a sorgum maze, have a sweet snack of pumpkin cookies and hot chocolate. The owner even gave them little painted pumpkins. It was a perfect fall day :-)

Four Little Pumpkins
After the pizza tour, we met up with their friends, Zach and Carter for a trip to a pumpkin patch. Jack was 'this hungry' after the pizza-palooza
and Harry was 'Coach!' using his Pumpkin bag just like Daddy wears his whistle for soccer

The duck race heating up - Zach, Ms Christina, Jack, Carter and Harry use the old-fashioned water pumps to help their ducks win
Harry takes a lead in one of the races
Jack plays it cool in the Corn Pit
...then gets buried by his buddies Carter and Zach
Harry has his turn
Harry and Zach chillin on the tractor train ride
And the reason for our visit - pumpkins in an idyllic setting

It was a great fall day (despite the HEAT) - thanx, friends!

Boo to you too
The boys have been talking about inviting their friends for Halloween ever since school started, so I thought a few decorations might help....um, think much? I spent a fair amount of the afternoon consoling Distraught Harry, who thought they'd be coming over as soon as the decorations went up....argh

Jack going eye to eye with Frank - you want some of this, sucka?!?
Harry was completely jazzed about this sign - one of his favorite words of the moment
And here comes the Joy of Gloves....somehow Fosse has taken up residence in our family
This is Harry's slow-mo version....
....and Jack speeds it up to FosseFosseFosse
Jack getting the banners out
Out with the old, in with the Boo
Harry's practicing to be a Ghost Pumpkin
or is he just practicing for the lampshades I see in his future?
Gettin' their BOO on - do you see those gloves? Seriously, the best $1x2 I ever spent...you'll see

Falling, falling
Saturday was filled with more fall fun, with a festival we've visited the last two years. They have a hay maze (tho it was only one bale high in most places - don't panic if you're comparing old pix...they haven't gotten THAT big). Here they are two years ago....Jack is his 'cool' phase
And Harry all countrified and cute
I thought this picture from Saturday was kinda cool, with Jack ready to climb under the bale and Harry visible above it
