Leaving on a FAST TRAIN

Yikes, it's been so long, I don't know where to start....so I'm just jumping in with the morning's trip prep. It seems like we could have just bought a couple of new suitcases and skipped the train, hotel, and adventures in NYC....oh, wait all that excitement is to come! They have been having a blast practicing their suitcase steering skills, making their own lemonade stand and other imaginative whatnot out of the suitcases....

I have about a gazillion pix from the last month and hope to get through them before my aging brain forgets all the stories and adventures we've been having....thanx for visiting and being patient!

Just My 'magination

Harry has been Mr. Imagination lately - he hasn't gotten all the way to Imaginery Friend land, but he's close with all the revisions he does to daily life. His kitten, Wubbzy, is a frequent character who typically does everything Harry does (or wants to do!). He's gotten pretty good at explaining to anyone who looks at him askance "that's just my iMAGination!". Love that boy!

Dream A Little Dream Of Me

This morning, I walked into the kitchen to find Jack standing by the sink
"Oh, Mommy, I was just having a morning dream" - it was so sweet in his little boy voice with all the potential for amazing things to come his way. Love him!

Just my 'magination, running away with me

The science nite was a big hit! They got back about 8, so Colleen I didn't get quite two hours ;-) They were so full of exciting news and stories, that now I can't wait to see what the school cooks up for Mother's Nite in the spring!

As often happens after an information-filled event, Jack woke up crying in the middle of the nite. His imagination is so vivid that he really 'lives' and 'relives' whatever he's learned as he processes it all. Dean and I both had to talk to him for a while about all the weather and electricity information he'd heard. No, tornados won't bend and come into our house. Yes, Mommy and Daddy will protect you and our house will, too. Yes, we also know how to protect everyone if a hurricane comes. I'm not sure about all the intricacies of weather or electricity, so thankfully Dean was able to take over and talk about the things they'd learned, the questions it brought up for Jack, and soothe him back to sleep.

Sleep tight, smart boy!

Lots of versions, but I really like Gwyneth Paltrow's, go figure?

Sweet Emotion

Did I say I'm loving 4? They are really in a good phase right now, but please don't say it out loud just in case they are listening and want to prove me wrong ;-)

Harry's sweetest/smartest things at the moment:
This for you (which does not translate in print but is completely sweet in his little voice)
Mommy, you should go to sleep. You will be tired in the morning if you don't go to sleep. (It's good to know they listen when we talk about sleep, and he IS right!)
(and while we were at a hotel recently) J: You push 'down' and I'll push '2' H: No, Jack, 2 is UP!

Jack's:
I posted about his recent jump in goodbye skills.
(He's been suffering a lot with allergies this season, and the other day he pipes up between sniffles:) Mommy, I think I'm allergic to escalators and doors and carousels, maybe (all the things we had done that day)
One time in my imagination, there was a lobster and he tried to get me, but I got him! That was a GOOD story.
