In the twinkling of an eye

All it took was a beatiful Fall afternoon and an offer of a Scouts' Bike Rodeo to get Harry to finally ride his bike. He was really determined, and quickly realized his skateboard balancing could come in pretty handy on two wheels! It was a day for meeting challenges - Jack took on this stick and clearly was the victor! Way to tough it out, little man!
A stop at the lake was definitely worth the ride, look at that sunset! "Explosions" are our favorites My phone camera couldn't do justice to this huge flock of Canadian geese (according to my wildlife enthusiasts) It was a sweet ride home with my two sonshines!

...who lives in a mushroom nearby

I don't know much about mushrooms, but we seem to have a bumper crop this year, and some really unusual ones....like this one - it looked like a yellow rag in our yard, and when I got close to take this picture....
a tiny frog jumped out of his second floor condo ;-)
This one looked pretty surrounded by all the fall colors,
but I felt like I was looking up her petticoats when I got this picture - wouldn't that make a beautiful fabric?

You've got to count your many blessings everyday

We took a walk the other nite, and it ended up itchy and sweaty and not so pleasant....then I saw the pix and remembered the point ;-)

Jack trying to see what the wildflowers smell like
And daring Harry to do it

I love storm clouds, and the boys are slowly coming around

The camera didn't capture those awesome sunbeams streaming thru, but these are my favorite sorts of clouds, something the boys always remember. I am a lucky wife and mom, indeed!
Hope your days are full!

Walk Along The River

We had a fabulous adventure today....okay, fabulous might be too strong a word since it took us at least twice as long as we thought to get there, we stopped a number of times to try to figure out where we were going, blahblahblah...but it was pretty fabulous when I think back on the easy time we had once we got there. Friends had recommended a restaurant about 30 miles away, right along a river, so off we went this morning. Thank you, Kristi and Correne, for making such fun from such a possible cluster - you girls rock!

Asher, Harry, Jack, and Spencer on occasion, took to the counter for their own adventure - they kept the amazingly patient waitresses pretty busy but the ladies seemed to love it, and I know it was a very pleasant breakfast for us moms. Some lyrical moments from the day...

on a stool next to me Into a ten turtle stack (we saw at least 6 turtles today - and didn't run over one -this was the closest the boys got)
All the happy golden day

I love to watch the river flow

There's bound to be rough waters
well, I wish I was a catfish

What A Difference (part of) A Day Makes

We played a little in the little bit of snow we had this morning.
Can you believe those are their footprints on the top steps and my boots at the bottom??
Where did my little guys go?!
And here's their first attempt at a snowman, pitiful but sorta cute, in the AM
And a few short hours later, Harry

and Jack can hardly believe it!

Don't Bug Me

The boys have been enjoying the Bug Catchers we bought from a sweet girl at our local farmer's market last weekend. Yesterday, a grasshopper had the misfortune of landing one of their trikes and becoming a science project. Here is Jack holding him before decorating his new home. Harry proudly taking him for a ride
and Harry checking in on him this morning - he'd eaten the food and drunk some of the water they left for him. So far.....

We seriously need a real pet - LOL
