Maybe all we need is water and friends

Jack, he's got his swim goggles on....
...and he meant business this afternoon! We ran into a fun friend and met some new ones. Jack is determined to learn to do flips and got most of the way there this afternoon. Harry met a new (older) girl who let him cheer her on as she did all sorts of tricks and slid down the monster slide. We even missed the bulk of the major storm that hit just before we had to leave the pool. All in all, a great day, with the exception of missing Daddy - hurry home, sweetie!

Sweet summertime

Summer is on its way, and we've had a lot of fun adventures lately, with more to come. This is such a great age, overall, but it's hard to believe they will be finishing kindergarten in just a few weeks - all the new experiences, friends and growing have made this a very full year. And, yes, Christina, the buckets were a big hit :-)

pool explorerS from the days of THEIR misspent youth

Friday was our boy Zach's 6th birthday, and there was no better place to be than twistin' by the pool with him.

Zach and Harry ready to par-tay

Wait, now he's ready - all decked out in Spidey gear

I can't find it at the moment, but I have this exact same picture from 4 years ago  :sniff:

This is as close as I could find on short notice - in about the same spot, which will show them how much amazing work they've done in the last few years.

The day ended with good friends, good music and a whole lotta laughs - thanx for a fantastic Friday afternoon, Zach and crew!

You're going to make a huge splash in Kindergarten - welcome to SIX!
Enjoy graduation - here's to another great summer!!

The boys on a tree outside the place we honeymooned - they've closed their deck so who knows if we can get a similar picture a decade later? Guess this isn't a bad substitute ;-)

Twistin' By The Pool

At the half-way mark of Swim Nazi school, the boys have earned a few ribbons and surprised themselves a few times - I'm looking forward to what next week brings.
Tho Harry was thrilled to earn his first ribbon and read both of Jack's, he was too exhausted to put much of it to use at yesterday's Pool Fest at Zach's :-(

clockwise from top: Harry, Jack, Asher, Grayson, Zach and Carter
It was a perfect day, with the exception of Jack's spill and tired boys and Mommy, and we couldn't look forward to next week any more (we'll all sleep more this week with Daddy home).

I got a few great pix that I'll share with the moms but this one shrieked Boys of Summer to me - Zach has become a frog whisperer this summer, and he and Asher bonded over their frog-catching adventures yesterday
Thanx again for all the fun!

Oh, What A Night!

We started our birthday party for America with a reading of the Declaration of Independence, featuring Thomas Jefferson's fifth great-grandson. It was cool to hear the words amidst all the current changes, and having them read by a direct descendent was a real treat!

There was pledging

There were lovies

and there was silliness

Then we headed over to the G's house for some fun in their new pool - it was a blast!
Carter, Harry, Jack and Zach

Zach's great smile

Harry and Mr. Ed primed their guns for a water fight - something doesn't seem quite right here....

Ms. Christina bringing out the birthday cupcakes.
After all the good eats and splashing, it was time for the light show

Jack is so excited for the fireworks this year, and he was not disappointed!

Neighbor friend, Zach, Harry, Carter and Jack had prime seats

Mr. Ed and his neighbors did a great job this year - I think their show was better than the county one we skipped, and no cops this year....great all the way around!

Happy Birthday, America!

Sittin' On The Dock Of The (Pool)

Jack earned a toy and insisted on this little fishing pole - I am sure it'll be 'too baby' as soon as they fish with real ones with Daddy in a few weeks. We had a fun afternoon in the pool. They love to wrap up in towels - who knows?

I Like To Go Swimming

I'm not sure this is technically a song, and I can't believe I'm using it, but I'm tired and a little punchy
We enjoyed an afternoon swim at our hotel, despite the rather chilly temps and major wind. Aunt Jackie's goggles came in handy and are too cute not to make another appearance some day soon! They look like they are doing Phelps' impersonations ;-)
