Things are a-bloomin'! I've been taking a lot of pix to document what will hopefully be our last spring here...I'm making a slideshow that we play when people look at the house. Sometimes it makes me wonder about moving because it's so pretty - the people before us put in a lot of amazing plants. A few traditional Spring flowers, daffodils, crocus, perriwinkle abound, but the trees are in making a statement at the moment. There are an insane number of butterflies and birds, but I haven't been able to get any good pix. Here are a few of my latest favorites (and one of our creek)

And a question for any bird enthusiasts....any idea why the birds aren't eating the seed we put out? One feeder has been used successfully before; the other's new. TIA for any ideas...maybe they knew I was trying to lure them in for pix??

Workin' on a love letter

Sweet Harry really does know how to work me...first he is just cute (notice the pic of him at one month behind him), then he pops up from the chair and says "I'm going to write you a letter and you will be so happy!"

um...yeah, I am! He's really writing and drawing (and cutting) a lot more spontaneously now, and I will always treasure the first (recognizable) love letter he gave me :wub:

Here Comes The Moon

It was a perfect afternoon for a stroll, and the boys got their groove going with their new mp3's.

They love the moon, especially Harry, who is a pro at spotting it in the day sky....even amidst the wispy clouds.

They jammed their way up the road and back - there wasn't much wildlife, but we moved a lot of branches and had a lot of fun talk

The ear buds are still not working that well, so we're going headphone hunting this weekend

Hippity hoppity, Easter's on its way!

The boys' preschool Easter party was today, the last day before Spring Break....woohoo! It was a nice melding of the religious meaning and the childish joy of the season.

There was a fun egg relay - these little eggs (from Target) cracked up and 'yolks' popped out

I'm not sure there's much sweeter than little ones holding hands in prayer

...maybe Harry's insistence on the *very* bowed head

They had to do the Easter egg hunt inside because of the weather, but the candy is just as sweet and a lot less soggy ;-)

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends

Some friends took a trip to enjoy the beautiful Spring weather and see what was blooming....it was more like a misty mist, but we didn't let it spoil our fun! Here are the moms taking a picture of the four cuties - my two are the bookends

Harry made his wish and remembered how many fountains they saw so he could tell Dean: 8 in the store, some in the 'pond' and a bunch outside was his report....I think he counted them all!

They had a pinwheel display that was really beautiful; unfortunately each of the over 4000 pinwheels represents a child who needed help from the child abuse services this year. A local school had each child make their own pinwheel and 'planted' them on school grounds...I thought that would be cool, but Colleen reminded me that if I suggested it, I might be responsible for carrying it out, which would not be an easy task.

There was a scavenger hunt, and despite this earnest moment, we owe all the prizes to Ms. Correne's diligence :-)

There seemed to be a circle theme to the end of our trip, with the boys gathering on this cool chair while we waited for lunch - it was delicious and totally worth the wait!

Don't you know that the bird's the word?

Spring has sprung, and the birds are flocking to our yard...unfortunately that includes some predators who thought a great present for people viewing our house would be their lunching on some woodland vermin....lovely. Anyway, the flowers are working their way into bloom and Harry has been a big helper with the bird feeders! We're trying to get some pix and hoped to lure them into trees around the house

We went to see Monsters vs. Aliens this weekend and got our picture took! I'm holding Harry and Dean has Jack....how did they get so big?!

Find a few good buddies and start a band

Their buddy Asher was generous enough to share all his instruments the other day, and my boys love 'em some guitar and drums (and miracas)! If they make it, you can say you 'knew them when' ;-)

This is why the Thank You notes are taking so much longer this year - it's not that they're not thankful....

...it's just that you'll actually get truly authentic ones for the first time this year. Thank you to all of you who have been patiently waiting - hope it's worth it ;-)
