Along the FROZen road.

We dug out today, and I caught a few cool pix of early spring in the country

Walking down to the minivan of awesomeness
(HP, Jack was extolling its virtues today, and I thought of you!)

This is the entry to our driveway....4 days later
It sort of called out for b&w

Just some random photos...

Jack, Asher, and Harry
(thanx for herding them, Asher!)

Sweet moment this morning
Jack telling Harry "you have to wait, ladies first!"
He's often polite, but this is one rule he rarely forgets (you're welcome future Mrs. Jack)

Harry setting his sights a little high this afternoon ;-)

Sharing secrets last week...
...and almost three years ago, when Jack was in a kissy phase

Over and over

Not sure why I'm humming that old Tommy James song, but I can't get it out of my head - maybe because everything's feeling repetitious today...not in a bad way, just a comforting one. Hope you're enjoying the week!

The boys have been doing a lot more on the computer lately, and we tried Starfall yesterday - I'm linking the games with the pix and description, if you're interested. It's a much more educational site, it'll sound out each word which is nice for those multi-modal learners since they can see the letters change colors as they are being read - this game Word Hunt is fun and introduces sentence structure - Jack is finding a verb on this screen. He liked this game a lot

Appropo...this game lets you build a snowman and uses the 10 Little Indians song
Right up in his grill :-)

Harry had a great time with the Car Race game - this is his 'vroom'
Reading along with the sentences (who knows *what's* up with that hair?!)
He's having a great time
and just a little bit proud of himself
They also played a lot with scholastic and nickjr sites, but this Clifford Winter Lost & Found game seemed appropriate for the weather - have fun!

You've Got A Friend In Me

It's been a lazy day around here, and the sunlight has been amazing -

here's Harry's studious face...
and his pure joy (just in case you weren't sure that he liked it, Christina - Thanx!)
Friendship Train

Harry's been into creating parking lots all over, but this time they cooperated and had a "car party - everyone's invited! You better get there quick because it's CROWDED!"

We watched two of the best friendship movies today - Cars and Toy Story
Randy Newman and Lyle Lovett

We're in the ICEhouse now

Baby, it's cold outside! We've spent the day enjoying the warm indoors and looking at all the cool icesculptures forming outside our house....this one reminded me of being behind bars (not that I'd know anything about that) ;-) Maybe Spring is behind bars?

The Ice Curtain

Look at that gorgeous sky!Jack loved seeing their toys dripping ice

It's Like Ice Cream

a big ole bowl of snow
some milk, sugar, and vanilla
mixed up until
all the fixin's can be added

Jack's concentration look

as he tests the cherry's stem

Harry sits down to their post-snow treats - snow ice cream and hot cocoa
and plays his favorite game!

Harry sampling his treats - you can hear a little Italiano in his hot-a chocolate

Sugar Jones

and you're gonna HUG meeeee!

Dean and Harry have been singing this line, altering it to fit their needs for days now...it's so sweet to hear their voices blending, and I'll tape it if I can ever catch them...for now, I'm just enjoying it!

the double-squeeze

Daddy and Jack
Jack, Daddy and Harry
When the sun goes down...
Jack came up with a new game .... snow boxing!
I didn't get a great pic, but it's pretty self-explanatory

Refrigerator Heaven

What is it about refrigerators and boys?
They both love to help me decide what's for dinner....

..but I think it's just an excuse to climb into the frozen thrill of the fridge

Alice Cooper's Refrigerator Heaven

Dazzling dancing diamonds from the sky

It snowed, and snowed, and snowed! I'm trying to make the best of it, since there's not much I can do to change it - I'd gotten lulled into not paying much attention to the meteorologists' predictions because they've been so wrong, for so long.....so I left errands and chores and shopping for today, when they'd be in school - maybe next week!

So here are some pretty pix - the dancing snowflakes look nice
until you realize that's my favorite tree, set to bloom in a week or so, that is bowed down and likely to be lost this year - I may go knock the snow off and see if I can save it - (you'll see why it's worth it, if it blooms)
Americana, cold but still beautiful

The Winter Wonderland that we woke to - a friend said it was like living in a treehouse outside our bedroom window

This little guy may have to wait a little longer for spring

Yesterday looked like this...
...and this morning looked like this

It's a lot of snow...it really does look like ice cream...maybe I'll have to give mom's snow ice cream recipe a whirl!
