Now, please, grow for me!

Pitiful, right? These were the most beautiful poinsettias a few short months ago. When I started with the shears, I didn't have a lot of hope, but look what I found....
It seems like you can find a bright spot in just about anything. Sometimes you just have to open your eyes and look.It looks like it wants to grow, so....
I'm going to let it have a fresh start. May you find hope in whatever troubles you.

Little Shop Of Horrors' Grow For Me

In Your Eyes

They say it's one of the worst allergy seasons in a long time...

Jack agrees. Thankfully, he's doing better with OTC allergy stuff, just in time for today's school pictures.

I realized he's been toughing out a rough time with his eyes lately after receiving an email from his teacher that a classmate clocked him with a chair by accident this week. Wishing you relief, little man!

PS Thanx to the friends who have emailed that my comments are not working - I have finally gotten rid of the program that hosed them up in the first place, but I've lost the last two years of comments and now it isn't letting people leave them. Argh. I'm working on it....Thanx for keeping up with us!

A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys

We went to see How To Train Your Dragon tonite, and it started out well with oohs and ahhs about the 3-D cool....
...but apparently Harry was more tired than he was intrigued, so Dean spent more than 1/2 the movie like this. There probably won't be many more opportunities to snuggle in a theater chair
Sleep tight, little prince!
Peter, Paul and Mary's Puff The Magic Dragon

SOnshine, it's better than moonshine

We took a little trip to the science museum this week, and it was a lot of fun....and educational...and fun! They have a display representing the sun and moon - this granite moon weighs 1/4 ton
Harry, Zach, Graham, Aunt Jackie and Jack checking out the pendulum
Jack was digging the light display - bustin' a move and watching his shadow
Harry also dug the light and mirror displays (and I caught Jack going to the other side of this mirror)
The boys had fun playing in this hall of mirrors (and, no, Jack hasn't come down with any diseases yet...ewww)
Harry's head on a platter
then it was Jack's turn
There were so many cool displays, and the kids are really into space lately - the planetarium is on the agenda for our next visit.
Harry got in a little astronaut practice
...can you beat that smile??
They got to check out their weights on the different planets
And had a chance to go on several adventures - here's Jack as a scuba diver, checking out the various maps
Aunt Jackie and Harry went on a tour of Greece and Italy and a few other places
before Harry got a chance to test his meteorological skills
Jack took to the seas
Thank you, Aunt Jackie, for a great gift that we can use thru the year....
Here they are pushing the Earth around at the end of a fun day

There's no place like home and none more pleasin'

Apparently winter didn't kill everything at the old house...including our continued hope that someone will eventually want to live there and buy it!
I love these tulips and hope to replant them at our new home....maybe some of the non-blooming ones will come back....does anyone know if that can happen?

It had rained the nite before and the sun was shining so beautifully

This is our survivor dogwood - at least 3 trees have fallen on it and taken various parts, but it continues to bloom and hopefully will recover on the other side
My friend Patti is an artist and asked to boys to pose for a painting idea she has - her poor puppy may never be the same since Jack was wild but I think she's really good, so maybe she can salvage something from the attempts ;-)
The redbud is starting to bloom, and providing good eats for the flying ones
Posing is hard work, so we met some friends for lunch and ice cream - the boys chose cotton candy BLUE - can you tell?
They had a blast using the sweet art set to decorate the birdhouses Ms. Patti gave them - did I say they LOVE this set of cool artist tools?!
The boys played in the culvert, rode bikes and scooters, and Jack even brought me sweet purple flowers and a smile this afternoon. Then we went to the library, and lost Harry amidst the animals. It was a beautiful day!

Lotta Love

Spring has sprung in all the good ways! The boys and I had a great day playing, Dean played golf with a couple of great old friends, then we all got to spend some time tonite enjoying the weather and time together. Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Spreading Easter joy around

Hippity Hoppity Hide-ity Find-ity!
He left a few musical treats. Joy for kids. Sore ears for us.
Jack's been completely into calculators lately, and they each got a keychain version
They've been a little closer lately, literally while they watched tv this morning - there were a lot of sweet, loving moments today for which I am really thankful!
A neighboring horse farm hosts an Easter party, and here are my boys on their way to enjoy the fun
Not sure whether they were more excited about the tractor, the horses, or the EEHunt, but it was all sure to be fun!
Checking out Ming and Snowball
Hitching rides....is it my imagination, or are there always pretty girls working at these places?!
They also had a fishing hole,
and Harry was the first to reel one in,
then Jack had his turn!
Their friend Zach joined in the fun, and everyone actually looked at the camera at the same time :-)
Harry and Dean
A lovely day is a great way to start Spring Break! Enjoy
